A Slip of (Her) Red (Slip) explores the role of display in the perception, import and interpretation of artworks. The work’s arrangement of nails around the room’s walls invite an ever-changeable hanging; the six panels’ dimensionality also adds the possibility of standing or lying them on the floor. Each result suggests a different function – for instance, as decorative elements in an interior design, positive shapes within a panoramic composition, multiple components of a multi-modular painting, elements of a multi-faceted sculpture, or props for a performance.
